Earlier this month, I had the honor of singing and playing “Just a Closer Walk with Thee” at my Papa’s funeral.

My Nena asked me to play some of his favorite hymns, but she didn’t want them to feel too sad. Papa loved Elvis, so I used the intro from Elvis’s version as a starting point, then created my own arrangement from there.

This performance means a lot to me, and I’m grateful I was able to play it for him and for my family.
